有這樣大手筆的制作，配樂方面自然馬虎不得。以致命武器、X戰警等配樂著稱的奧斯卡最佳配樂大師Michael Kamen(麥可卡門)，此次為這張電視影集原聲帶，譜寫出多首令人動容的佳作。雖然這是一部描寫戰爭的影集，但是在音樂的呈現上，卻跳脫出單純制造緊張情緒及肅殺氣氛的狹隘音樂內涵，輔以唯美的合聲與弦樂聲墻，帶出戰場中難能可貴的人性與感情，時而激昂，時而沉吟，牽動著樂迷與觀眾的情緒。

繼《拯救大兵雷恩》后，好萊塢大導演斯皮爾伯格與兩屆奧斯卡影帝湯姆·漢克斯再度合作，推出有史以來造價最昂貴的電視連續劇《兄弟連》(Band of Brothers)。這個由二戰期間美軍在歐洲大陸作戰的真人真事改編而成的故事，總計拍攝成本高達1億2000萬美元。

在1998年為電影《拯救大兵瑞恩》宣傳期間，男主角湯姆·漢克斯曾收到一名參加過二戰的老兵親手贈送的一本小說《戰火兄弟連》。讀完之后深受感動的湯姆·漢克斯后來把這部小說轉贈給斯皮爾伯格，后者則后悔“沒有早點看到這本書”，因此兩人決定將其拍成電視劇。

經過八個月的拍攝，其中動用了五百個有臺詞的演員、一萬個臨時演員，由八個導演共同完成，這部長達10個小時、耗資1．2億美元的“史上最貴”電視劇集終于誕生，并于2001年10月27日在ＨＢＯ獨家首映。
