Chapman，這位收養(yǎng)Shaoey的虔誠(chéng)的基督教徒，在中國(guó)，Chapman夫婦還收養(yǎng)了Stevey Joy， 和Maria Sue，這三個(gè)孩子給Steven一家?guī)?lái)了無(wú)窮的歡樂(lè)和祝福，并真正地融入了家庭，成為不可缺少的一份子。不幸的是他最小的年僅5歲的Maria Sue Chunxi Chapman死于2008年的一場(chǎng)交通事故。他還建立了Show Hope基金（曾以Shaoey命名為Shaohannah’s Hope），為希望進(jìn)行國(guó)際領(lǐng)養(yǎng)的家庭提供咨詢幫助和基金支持，并為中國(guó)的孤兒呼吁。

2006年Steve曾在北京拉菲特城堡酒店舉辦了一次兒童希望慈善晚宴，Steven對(duì)中國(guó)和中國(guó)的孤兒有著特殊的感情，身為歌手，最大的報(bào)答方式就是和中國(guó)的人民來(lái)分享他的音樂(lè)。真正打動(dòng)人的音樂(lè)是無(wú)國(guó)界的，Steven把他在生活中所經(jīng)歷的美好、感動(dòng)和祝福化為旋律和歌聲，為更多的人帶來(lái)快樂(lè)和幸福。Steven Curtis Chapman也極其熱心于兒童的慈善事業(yè)，他近些年來(lái)一直為了孤兒的福利事業(yè)奔走于全世界。
